Make a decision now: Or technology or Chapter Eleven. It’s the “IT” Stupid.
What is the change we are living?
Have you ever been to Michigan Stadium, or Wembley Stadium, or Rose Bowl Stadium, or Nou Camp, or Santiago Bernabeu, or the Estadio Azteca, or the Stade de France, or the Giuseppe Meazza?
Imagine one of those Stadiums. And a tap in the middle of the Stadium. A tap in the middle of the field. At 12:00 a first drop falls from that tap. In the next minute two drops fall. And the next minute, 4 drops. At 12:44 minutes we would see the water already on the grass. At 12:49 the stadium would overflow. This is the next change. That is the avalanche of technology that is already falling on us. If you do not believe it, sit down and wait. Soon you will remember this reading.
How is the market in which we compete?
Or High-End or Low-Cost. The new global market is that. It is simply that. The market is polarized. The client starts looking for, or luxury, or commodities.
How will we compete in that market?
To compete in that market it is critical to be permeable to technological advances. That attitude (being permeable) does not consist in wanting to use the most advanced mobile phone, or the last electric car, or the most advanced weareble. This attitude of permeability to technology consists in permanently analyzing how technology allows my business to be more effective and more efficient. It does not mean doing a PhD in the MiT. Assume it: There is today and there will be innovation anywhere, in any sector, in any business; even in the most reluctant to innovation.
Connect to the sources of innovation. But how to do it?
Bet on innovation. You have to fill the company with geeks, you have to fill the company with people who love technology. They will allow technology to reach the organization.
Let’s not deny the change. Small companies are capable and our attitude will mark our future.
The risk of not risking is in falling into obsolescence
We can because we believe we can. That must be the attitude.
