
Wenzel Tijs graduated in Law from KU Leuven in 2004. In 2005 he obtained an advanced master’s degree (master-after-master) in Tax Law at the same university. He has practised as a lawyer since 2005, providing both advice and assistance in proceedings to businesses and individuals.
Wenzel works mainly in the broader field of business law (including the law of obligations, commercial and economic law, and company law). He has a particular interest and experience in debt recovery in an international context.
He has been a lecturer since 2009, teaching the law of obligations, special contract law, property law, commercial and economic law, and company law.
He is co-author of the handbook ‘Praktisch Verbintenissenrecht’ (Practical Law of Obligations), first published in 2012. Out of a broader, interdisciplinary interest, he has also contributed to the book ‘Openbaarheid van bestuur’, on administrative transparency in Flanders.
