The relevance of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement lies in the following aspects, which we enumerate below:

  4. Increased Ambition: It potentially enables countries to set more ambitious targets, knowing that they can utilize cooperation mechanisms to achieve them.
  5. Climate Finance: It can generate financial flows to developing countries for mitigation and adaptation projects.
  6. Robust Accounting: It aims to establish clear rules to avoid double-counting of emission reductions.
